About Your Auctioneer
My name is Thomas Rose I am a professional commercial and fundraising auctioneer. I graduated the World Wide College of Auctioneers in Iowa, USA in 2019.
Using what I have learnt in auctioneering school and experience from other auction opportunities, I have created my own distinctive auction style, combining the excitement of an American chant with the clarity of British auctioneering.
My approach is:
Fast
Maintaining momentum and keeping the audience focused.
Fun
Creating an enjoyable atmosphere in which guests feel comfortable participating.
Effective
Controlling the bidding professionally and working towards the strongest possible fundraising result.
My commercial auction experience includes classic cars and motorcycles, tractors and plant machinery, hotels, hospitality assets, furniture, toys, collectibles and online auctions.
This experience provides the confidence and control needed to manage busy rooms, competing bidders and valuable lots.
A successful fundraising auction should be one of the highlights of the event—not simply a list of lots read from a stage.
I bring warmth, humour and high energy to the room, encouraging guests to participate while keeping the focus firmly on the cause. Each auction is prepared around the charity, it's supporters and it's fundraising target.
Fundraising experience includes events supporting:
* Teenage Cancer Trust
* Children’s Hospice South West
* Two Wheels for Life
* Fight for Sight
* Sid Lawrence
* St Paul’s Carnival
* Local community organisations and charitable causes
Not only have I supported multiple charities and local community fund raisers, I have supported the annual Fight for Sight Golf Day for four years, helping turn donated experiences, memorabilia and special lots into valuable funds.
Fundraising support can include:
* Advice on choosing strong auction lots
* Lot order and running-order planning
* Reserve and opening-bid guidance
* Sponsor and donor recognition
* Audience engagement throughout the event
* Live pledges and donation moments
* Coordination with the host, venue and production team
* I can also offer to be the host
* Promotion through Hammer Time’s social channels

Fundraising events often involve charities, event organisers, venues, production teams, sponsors, donors, hosts and volunteers.
I will work closely with everyone involved to create a smooth and professional auction.
Before the event, we can confirm:
* The final lot list
* Lot descriptions and restrictions
* Reserves and opening bids
* Auction timings
* Payment arrangements
* Bidder identification
* Room layout
* Sound, lighting and presentation requirements
* Online and telephone bidding
* Sponsor acknowledgements
* Procedures for recording winning bidders
Good preparation allows me to concentrate on the audience and the fundraising when it matters most.
1. Initial conversation
Tell me about your cause, event, audience, target and current auction plans.
2. Auction planning
I will review your potential lots, event schedule and bidding options, then recommend a suitable structure.
3. Lot preparation
Your strongest lots will be selected, ordered and presented with clear descriptions, opening bids and donor acknowledgements.
4. Event coordination
Before the auction, I will work with your organisers, venue, production team and volunteers to confirm how everything will run.
5. Auction delivery
I will bring energy, humour and professional control to the stage, encouraging guests to participate and support your cause.
6. Review
After the event, I can review what worked well and identify opportunities to make your next fundraiser even stronger.
Let’s Raise More Together
Your supporters are already in the room because they care about your cause. Hammer Time helps turn that goodwill into action through a fundraising auction that is professional, exciting and memorable. Let me help you engage your guests, showcase your donated lots and maximise the money raised for your organisation.
Fast. Fun. Effective.
